Diary: Pure Puglia
When we first arrived in Villanova in Puglia we were kind of chocked by the industrial look of this small village. However we decided to visit the beach to look for a fish restaurant. It took us some motivation since we were super tired by driving the whole day but it was totally worth it! By the time we arrived at the beach there were some fishermen catching octopus. The whole village was at the beach. We were instantly catched by the moment and we took some of the best pictures during our trip. Everyone was super kind and happy to tell us the secrets of catching octopus.
After this happening, we got the hint from a local to go to a restaurant nearby to get the joy of the catch of the day on the plate. The restaurant is called “Il Veliero Ristorante”. To be honest it looks terrible from the outside with the clichee plastic chairs. But it’s always the same in Italy: When the restaurant looks easy, go there to get the best and most authentic citchen possible! All habitants of the village met there with family and friends to enjoy the evening together and the food was delicious! Super cheap, pure and to us the best dinner we had for a long time.
